Police ask residents to watch for stolen items in their yards

Lacombe Police are asking residents in Henners Landing, Elizabeth Park and Bruns subdivisions to check their property and vehicles for disposed property that may belong to others.
Lacombe Police say thieves stole items from unlocked vehicles on Thursday and Friday night with a dozen reports of theft of loose change, wallets and electronic devices in the Henners Landing and Bruns subdivisions.
Most of the stolen property was recovered. But if residents find the remainder of the stolen items in their yards the yare asked to notify Lacombe Police at 403-782-3279.
"While Lacombe remains a very safe community, it is not immune to thieves seeking easy opportunities," said Cst. Steve Murray, media liaison in a prepared statement.
"Police yet again remind residents that these types of crimes are easily prevented by one simple act—lock your doors."
